                 he speaks the truth, she knows. she does not doubt the words he says for each syllable matches perfectly with what she’s spent her whole life listening to. bravery. anyone can claim it ‘til it comes time to prove it. to risk something with little to no reward. she believes herself brave. believes fearlessness goes housed within small body, within limbs, within heart, within brain. hopes she is never proved otherwise.   (  for a moment she doubts herself. wonders if that was his intention.  )
